Have you have caught yourself looking forward to an event, outing or even vacation? Something that would entail being excited for. You know that anxious feeling of excitement and joy that builds with anticipation as the days near closer to that event? What if we applied that to our lives everyday instead of just for a special occasion? Imagine how your days would feel if you felt that joy about simply waking up or eating breakfast, seeing your kids after work or cooking dinner.
Don’t get so trapped in your ‘routine’ that you forget to enjoy it. This relates a lot to my post a few days ago about feeling the moment that you’re in. Reminding yourself that this very moment won’t happen again, so you should really savor it. Today’s #foodforthought parallels that article (which you can read here). It’s a quote by actress Sandra Bullock posted in Entertainment Weekly:
“When people are like, “Life is so good,” I go, “No, life is a series of disastrous moments, painful moments, unexpected moments, and things that will break your heart. And in between those moments, that’s when you savor, savor, savor.”
