Stop searching for that person who’s going to ‘save’ you or change your life. They don’t exist. I know, it’s harsh, but the reality is this – go look in your mirror. You see that person staring back at you? That’s the only person that’s going to ‘save’ you. I’ve said it before – everything you need is already inside you.

God does not send us out into this world ill-equipped. It’s not possible to live a life that is “perfect” but it is possible to live an imperfect life, perfectly. If we’re honest with ourselves than we’ll realize that without “pain” we wouldn’t know how to appreciate all the good stuff. Pain will teach you how to pray. If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Here’s a great example my Pastor gave in church yesterday that makes understanding this concept SO much easier: The idea of going to a gym is to get stronger. But in order to get stronger, you have to lift weights – you have to lift something heavy. You can’t go to a gym and lift paper and expect to get stronger. If you can lift the ‘heavy’ stuff in the gym and in ‘life’ you WILL get stronger and it’ll get easier to lift the heavy stuff later. Today’s Daily Affirmation is:

I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for. I am equipped to handle any situation because I am strong.
