Spending time alone with yourself is never a bad thing – though many will try to make it out like it is. Getting to know and enjoy your own company is a crucial part of personal and spiritual growth. If you’re aware of who you are and what you like and don’t like then you have already established the important foundation work for your journey. Once you can trust yourself fully, you’ll be less likely to teeter off course on your path.
Spending time with just you does not classify you has a “hermit” or “anti-social” – people who throw out these words frivolously do not understand you because they do not understand themselves. These are probably individuals who constantly need to be surrounded with people because they are unsure of who they are and what they like. Don’t get angry with them when they judge you, wish them well, send them peace and continue on your journey. They are merely obstacles that negativity has sent to distract you and throw you off course. Remember to always take time for you, every single day – not just once a week, every single day. We all have responsibilities, but one of them that is important is being still with yourself. Your soul can’t grow and you definitely cannot be good for others if you aren’t good to yourself first.
