Staying true to yourself takes strength – it takes courage. It also takes sitting down and getting really honest about who you are and what you want in your life. Sometimes we have situations that aren’t easy to handle, but that doesn’t mean we run from them. Being a spiritual person means you are constantly working on yourself and giving yourself room to grow and evolve.

When clients come to me and feel like their only option is to run from something not going the way they want – my first response is, have you taken some time to soul search. Have you looked within yourself? You see it used to confuse me this whole thing about our relationships being our reflection of ourselves. Us magnetizing exactly what we are into our life. Then you have the whole “don’t take anything personal” mumbo jumbo – because everyone is fighting their own internal battle. It can get exhausting and confusing trying to figure out which relationship needs what from you at what time.

So here’s what you do: sit down, breathe and ask yourself this one question – what do I want? It’s short, it’s sweet but oh-so-powerful isn’t it! What do I want? And write down your answers – for every part of your life. What is it that you want? Is this situation that you’re constantly dealing with – when the dust settles, is it something you want? Does it excite you? Does it bring you joy? These are important questions to answer because when you can honestly dive deep within and answer them you can always get clear on what you need to do in any situation. It’s not always easy because our ego always wants us to run, right – because it makes us think others are our enemies. It makes us think we’re separate and under attack. But when you run from something that pushes you, makes you grow or makes you feel – you’re doing yourself and your soul a huge disservice. Because things that push us out of that zone we find so cozy and comfortable – those things are meant for us. Those things are in our life to make us better versions of ourselves. Today’s Daily Affirmation is:

I am courageous and strong when I ask myself what excites me, brings me joy and what is it I want for my life.
