Some people find it easier not to tell the truth. The truth can hurt if we don’t want to acknowledge it or work on bettering ourselves. Self and spiritual growth is one of the most important things you need to focus on in life. It’s the stem of all other factors. It’s the vase of water that feeds the flowers and allows them to grow. If you don’t keep the vase full of clean water, the flowers wilt. This goes for our lives, our bodies, minds and souls too!

In order to keep your vase clean, you need to be open and willing to learning more about yourself. No one is perfect and no one will ever be perfect. But we can strive to be kind, caring, honest, loving, truthful, authentic individuals. We can aim to be the best versions of ourselves we can be! Why would you ever want to be anything less? Teachers aren’t perfect, coaches aren’t perfect, gurus aren’t perfect – but they’re all willing to improve every single day. I’ve encountered people along my journey who make comments towards me because I’m a Certified Holistic Life Coach. “What qualifies you to be a life coach? You’re only 29 years old.” “You must have a lot of life experience (said sarcastically).” “What makes you think you know more than everyone else?” My answer is simple – I do not know more than everyone else. I have prayed for God-given wisdom for decades. I have worked on myself endlessly for decades – truly worked on myself physically, emotionally and spiritually. My wisdom doesn’t all come from school or a course – sometimes I’m shocked at the answers I provide or the wisdom I carry. A lot of times I have no idea how I gained it or where it came from. I know that’s because it came from above. I don’t let people with questions or doubts deter me though. I stay truthful to myself and my path and if they’re judgmental, that’s within them – not me. They are the one not wanting to look within and learn something and improve themselves.

I simply let them have their opinion and go on my way. You see because the truth is something people like this don’t want to face. Age doesn’t equal wisdom. Life experience alone doesn’t always equal wisdom. You can have experienced a whole lot of stuff in your life but gained zero knowledge from it. This is all a personal choice – it’s up to you. I stay mindful of every interaction I have, every set-back, come-back, downfall – every success, friendship, relationship, every single lesson and I take it, use it, apply it, learn from it. This is my truth. If you can’t face your truth, like those ‘types’ of individuals I mentioned above, you are doing your spirit a disservice. It is on Earth to grow and advance. If you cannot be honest with others, how can you be honest with yourself? It goes the other way around too – if you can’t be honest with yourself, how can you be honest with others? Think about this today and in the coming days as we approach a new month. Today’s Daily Affirmation:
