You can operate through life in two ways: Paying attention or not. Are you paying attention? What I mean is are you listening to the words being spoken to you? Are you remembering the things that really push your buttons and set you off? Are you being mindful of the lessons that are unfolding for you every single day?

Most of you probably answered no. Most of you are not paying attention but it’s not on purpose – you simply didn’t know how. Let me break this down for you: Life is going to happen whether you are or are not being mindful of it’s happenings. However if you are to be mindful of what is going on in your existence you will come to realize that you are always ALWAYS always being guided. You are always being taught something. You are always being tested to see if you actually learned something. You are always being told what you need to learn, know and where you need to go. And it’s ALL happening to help you become the best version of yourself possible.

A lot of sh*t unravels in a year. A lot of things can be learned, lost, repaired, healed, revealed. You can focus on the details or you can look at the bigger picture. That bigger picture will help you understand the purpose it all served for you. The bigger picture will help you see how far you’ve come. The details will upset you. The details were just the means to an end; the context the lesson was taught in; the only way God could breakthrough to you. The details were what needed to happen in order for you to get where you are right now. Guess what? The details never f&cking matter though…only the bigger picture does. Don’t focus on HOW you were taught the lesson just be grateful you learned it. See it always sucks when you’re in the middle of the lesson BUT ONLY if you’re harping on the details. If you start paying attention to what is being taught AS it’s being taught…the details totally disappear and all you’re left with is gratitude from the start. Today’s Daily Affirmation is:

I am grateful for who I've become. I am the best version of myself and keep getting better by the day!
