3 tips to help you find your bliss
Do you ever find yourself in a cloud of fog feeling lost and confused? You have so much running through your mind and yet nothing at the same time. Some of it makes total sense and then pieces of it don’t seem to add up.
I truly believe there’s a point in everyone’s life where they know they want more for themselves, they know there’s more out there, they just don’t know where to start looking.
I was in this exact position about two years ago. I began to get really frustrated with where I was in life – forget about the ‘you are exactly where you need to be stuff’ because at that point in time I was searching for more and yet had no idea what I was actually looking for. It felt like months of fog until everything clicked for me – suddenly, all at once. Isn’t that how it always happens? Everything just falls into place at the exact moment it’s supposed to. That was when I decided to go get Certified as a Life Coach. The answers were staring me in the face for years and years and when it all clicked I looked back and went…“damn, how’d I miss that!”
My process of getting through the fog was simple – though at the time I felt major frustration. My simple method was to get really clear on what I wanted in my life.
What made me happy?
What could I do everyday that would be fulfilling and bring me endless joy?
What was I naturally good at?
What is something that everyone comes to me for or needs help with?
These questions and so many more are what I started asking myself. I got a notebook out and just started making bullet points and writing down whatever nouns, adjectives, ideas came to mind. Page after page it became clearer and clearer.
The more I released the idea I had of having a job other people would want me to have and embraced what was in my heart – everything started to flow.
Words poured out more everyday and finally it all just fit together like a giant jigsaw puzzle. I know a lot of you have felt that fog or perhaps you’re in the midst of it right now. I wanted to offer up some amazing tips for clearing the fog and finding your bliss. Here they are:
- GET CLEAR
Get really clear on what it is YOU want for your life. Be honest with yourself and keep your words as genuine and authentic as you can. Get a journal or just a piece of paper and write out your thoughts, your visions, your dreams. Even if they’re just words like what I did – eventually it’ll come together. If you’re at the point where you don’t even have the words yet, meditate. You don’t need to know how, just sit in stillness and focus on your breath. Let the room be quiet and all the distractions of the world fade away. Breathe in slowly and deeply and then exhale – it’ll help calm your mind and tune you in to your intuition for wisdom.
- KEEP IT REAL
Be honest with YOU. Forget what everyone else in your life is telling you to do. Forget what they want. Forget whatever stressors you have and release the expectations of everyone in your life and of the world around you. Focus on your happiness. Tap into your heart center and get really real about what it is YOU want for your life. What is going to bring you non-stop joy every single day? What do you enjoy doing? Stay true to you!
- TAKE ACTION
Set a plan. You don’t need to know how it’s ALL going to come together and as I tell my own clients – don’t even focus on the “how” or the “when”. Just focus on what it is you want and what you can do from where you are right now – because the truth is you can begin right where you are and the “how” and the “when” are always taken care of. There aren’t many successful people that started out in this world with all that much. They just had a vision and took action. Visualize it! I recommend making a vision board of words and pictures that describe what it is you want in your life. Put it somewhere you can see it every day. When you can feel it and see it, you can manifest it into existence. Believe in yourself and have faith because what you focus on, you expand. What you think, you create!
