Staying grounded isn’t always an easy thing to do. We as humans have so much going on around us that provoke emotions and thoughts, that it’s easy to lose our way and sometimes lose our mind. Some people don’t fully understand what being grounded means – essentially it means being “well balanced and sensible.” Not letting external forces provoke your internal feelings. Some people just have a nature about them, it’s in their personality and they are able to keep others grounded – while others turn to meditation, prayer and even The Bible to keep their feet planted firmly on the ground.

Whatever your method is, embrace it. The important thing is to recognize that you are human and you are going to experience emotions; fear, sadness, happiness, anxiety, joy, kindness, etc. The key to being grounded is not allowing those emotions to get the best of you. Not allowing them to overlap or cover up what you truly feel about a person or situation. Sometimes the best way to do that is to silence yourself, breathe in, breathe out and let the emotion run over you like a wave. Once it passes and you let it go, you will begin to see the truth expose itself. Today’s Daily Affirmation is:

I will not be swayed by excessive emotions. I will be still and wait for the truth.
