How do you know your soul is strong? Nothing can affect you, that’s how. Nothing external can shake you when your soul is strong. Why is that important? Because your soul is what connects your mind, your body and your spirit. It needs to be a priority – it actually requires that we make it a priority and you’ll be able to tell right away if you haven’t because everything external will shake you up.

I’m going to use an amazing example my pastor used in church this morning. No athletic team shows up for a game without having practiced. No team waits until the game to play the game. Practice makes the game feel natural. It makes you optimistic that you’ll win the game. If you’re pessimistic, there’s no need to practice right? You need to believe you can win and that is why there is practice. So what does this have to do with your soul? If you believe everything bad will always continue to happen to you, there’s no need to build up your soul. But MOST people – whether they believe in God/Universe/Source or anything will more times than not ASK for “good thoughts” or “prayer” when something has gone wrong in their life. Why? Because even though they say they don’t believe – they do believe if you have a God and some sort of connection, maybe there’s a chance. They believe good can happen.

So basically they’ve gone into the game and not practiced. And now they’ve realized they aren’t prepared to handle what’s going on and have looked to a teammate who has practiced and is asking for guidance. When something goes “wrong” in your life, do you really want to constantly search for ways to handle it from others or do you want to be able to stand strong and know that all is well no matter what? I choose to not be swayed by external circumstances and that is because I focus on building the strength within my soul. When you develop your spiritual growth and work to strengthen your soul – you will realize nothing has power over you unless you let it. You realize that by simply having a willingness to perceive differently and surrender to a much more powerful force – anything and everything can and will work out for the best. You just have to believe. You just have to practice. You just have to be optimistic and know that something larger is ON YOUR SIDE. This entire thing is rigged in your favor and the only reason you feel shaken up sometimes is because your soul isn’t strong. You’ve allowed external stuff to have power over you by letting yourself believe it mattered. When you build up that soul you’ll realize all that truly matters is what is within you.
