Balance is a crucial part of self-love. When you can even out the scales in your soul with a well-rounded amount of what brings you joy – you will find that life tends to just get that much easier. Do I mean that hardships won’t occur, no. I mean that blissful energy that you feel when you’re doing the things that make you happy – that will take up residency in your heart because you’re constantly filling it up.
Sometimes we can lose our sense of self and feel like something’s missing. We love ourselves, we take care of ourselves, we feel good, look good and are happy BUT we’re not sure why there seems to be something missing. You need that interaction with others in your life who also appreciate the you that you love. You see because your sense of self can tend to drift when you don’t maintain all your soul connections in life. They exist to benefit you. They grow you. They encourage and inspire and uplift you. They are there to support you. You are there to do the same for them. Be of service to each other and don’t neglect these other connections.
So seek out balance in all areas. Your romantic relationship, your friendships, your family, your career, passions and any hobbies or activities that bring you happiness. I like to think of it like this: You can’t just eat one type of food, three times a day for the rest of your life. You just can’t. You need to mix it up. You need nutrients from other kinds of food. You need different tastes and different textures. You might be able to go a few weeks splurging on just one thing – but eventually you will get tired of it. Eventually you will need something else. Not to replace it – to add to it. Because if you indulge yourself strictly in one thing all the time, you’re not only missing out on so many other things that’ll add to your life – you’re choosing to deprive yourself of necessary connections that are literally there to HELP you, enhance you, heal you, make you whole!
