Unexpected events lead to unexpected places and unexpected changes. Why do we resist this so much? Why do we resist the unknown? Why do we fear change? In the last two days I’ve had two of my clients have major breakthroughs. They might not see them as “major” but from where I’m sitting, they’re huge. Both breakthroughs involved a willingness to SEE something differently.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Just look at the situation differently. Just try to understand that person differently. Move around, glance at it from a new angle and grasp this concept. It’s not easy. It’s not easy because our minds are split – ego vs. spirit. We get so comfortable in our ego-mind that trying to return back home to our truthful mind feels like a long ass hike up a tall ass mountain. But that is only because we complicate matters. We overthink and we end up putting ourselves in a place of resistance.
Listen, the best way to get anything accomplished is to relax and let it come to you. If you’re hiking up that tall ass mountain and you start stressing out about how much further you have to go and allow your muscles to tense up – you are only going to prevent yourself from actually getting to the top. You’ll slow yourself down and psyche yourself out. It goes the exact same way for embracing change. Rather than tense up, freak out and resist it – why not just step aside and allow it. See what unfolds! My client spoke such brilliant words today in explaining her breakthrough, “I used to look at changes as a loss or as a negative, but now I try to look at it like a gain–even if that gain is not immediate. Changes mean something is coming. Something better. You helped me see that yesterday for sure!” Step aside dolls and allow what’s making it’s way to you, to arrive! Today’s Daily Affirmation is:
