Our circumstances do not dictate our future. Our current situation does not describe who we are – it’s merely what we’re dealing with. Do you believe that life is not about the destination, but rather about the journey itself? It might sound cliche, but it’s the truth. So maybe you’re unemployed…that doesn’t describe your character as a human being. That doesn’t mean you’re not a good person with a kind soul. You just haven’t encountered the job for you..yet. Maybe you’re not in the financial state that you hoped you’d be in at your age. That doesn’t mean that that can’t change at any second.
During yesterday’s Affirmation I mentioned to you all that we are put in situations for a reason. Maybe it’s part of our journey to help someone else learn a lesson as they observe what we go through. Maybe it’s to teach us something important – like to be grateful for what we do have, instead of wishing we had something different. Whatever it is – whatever you’re going through right now, at this very moment, stop and think...how is this helping me? What is this teaching me? Is someone else learning something from me? I promise you that you’ll have an answer for at least one of those questions, if not all three and then some. Focus and enjoy each moment in your life, every situation that is thrown your way because there’s value there. Isn’t that what life’s all about? Learning to be the best “you” that you can?! Today’s Daily Affirmation is:
I will live every moment and learn from it.
