Mondays Affirmation

Funny how sometimes it takes us repeatedly doing something over and over again until we finally catch on that it’d be easier to do it differently. It’s the definition of insanity to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome but how many times have you done exactly that? I mean…speaking for myself, quite a few. We all have…that’s essentially how we learn. If you keep f&cking up long enough you finally get tired of it.

Or if you want a different outcome enough…you finally try a different way. But why does it take us so long to make that click? Why do we insist on driving ourselves insane before we choose a better route? Because we aren’t paying attention to what we’re doing. We learn a lesson in one area of our life and then tend to exclude that lesson from other areas….like suddenly it doesn’t exist anymore. Exclusions happen all the time. We learn how to value ourselves in business but forget when it comes to friendships or family. We learn how to love ourselves as a person but when we see food suddenly we get triggered into punishing ourselves again. The list goes on and on in all of our lives…but guess what…this is where the magnitude of that LESSON lives.

You learn how to create boundaries with coworkers or clients but for some reason don’t apply that lesson to your family members. Know how you REMEMBER the lesson…no matter HOW the test shows up? Remind yourself: Everyone is the same. That’s it…remind yourself they are ALL the same. The way the test shows up doesn’t matter…it’s still the same test. Who cares if the teacher is different…they are teaching the same sh*t. So get into that place of neutrality where your power lives and remind yourself you are only learning and once you stop getting thrown off by the teacher…you’ll finally master this sh*t and pass that test for good! Today’s Daily Affirmation is:

When I focus on the lesson, the teacher can't distract me.
